Registrations

Eligibility
All candidates who have applied for the examination, at Certificate, Diploma or the Advance Diploma level are required (as a pre-requisite) to register as members of CIIN.

Candidates seeking to commence the examination must have passed the Senior Secondary Certificate or G.C.E Ordinary level examination with credits in 5 subjects including English language and Mathematics at NOT more than TWO (2) sittings. Those entering for the Certificate in Insurance could be fresh entrants. Completion of the Certificate in Insurance logically qualifies existing students for entry into the Diploma in Insurance stage.

Requirements

All persons desirous of sitting the examinations of the Institute whether at the Certificate, Diploma or Advanced Diploma levels are required (as a pre-requisite) to register as members of CIIN. Such persons may include those employed or are engaged in insurance practice, students of Insurance in Institutions of higher learning or persons outside mainstream insurance practice wishing to obtain insurance qualification. Also students in Institutions upon graduation are eligible to register and sit for examinations

Persons applying for membership of the Institute should obtain and complete the CIIN/01 from the Institute's Secretariat or the Institute's branches nationwide

Any person who wants to sit the Institute's examination will be required to obtain and complete form CIIN/02 which deals with student registration. The completed form with all relevant copies of certificates and any documentary evidence, should be returned to the Directorate of Examinations, Chartered Insurance Institute of Nigeria (CIIN), 27, Lagos Street, P.M.B. 1053, Ebute-Metta, Lagos, Nigeria.

Candidates registering as examination students must return their completed application forms to reach the CIIN by the dates stipulated on the application forms for the April and October examinations, respectively.

Exemptions: Those who wish to apply for subject exemptions should do so at the same time as they register as examination students. Please read more on Exemptions Guidelines

Applicants who have met CIIN's general education requirements for entry will be informed. Those who do not meet the requirements for entry will not be registered as examination students and their registration fees, if any, will be refunded.

Please note that only those who have been registered as examination students can enter for the examinations. Applicants whose registration as students have been accepted will be informed. The Registration Number is not the same as the Examination Number. Students are required to quote the Registration Number in all correspondence relating to examination matters while their studentship lasts.

Registration for Non-Members

— Visit the Members' Portal through the Institute‚Äôs websites.

— Click on the REGISTER section to register as a new applicant.

— Fill in your details (names, phone number and email address) and submit.

— A confirmation link with additional information is sent to your email address.

— Proceed with application by clicking on the link sent to our mail. The link takes you back to the Members' Portal

— Log on to the APPLICANT PROFILE where all necessary information will be provided.

— This information including necessary document is verified by the MEMBERSHIP DEPARTMENT of the Institute.

— After verification, a mail is sent to applicants to proceed to make the relevant payment.

— After payment is made and confirmed by MEMBERSHIP DEPARTMENT, the applicant is converted to a member and a membership PIN is generated.

— The membership PIN is used to Log on to the MEMBER PROFILE, applicants get to register for the Examinations.
