DIRECTORATES - MEMBERSHIP
The Membership Directorate essentially deals with membership matters such as registration of members, updating membership records, membership drive and generally providing the enabling avenue for members of the Institute to receive all materials, information etc from their Institute. The membership Directorate provides a Register of members as statutorily provided in the Enabling Act of the Institute.
Section 2(1) of the Charter specially recognises the following categories of membership and their requirements. These categories are:-
(i) Fellows
(ii) Associates
(iii) Other Members
Since inception in 1959, the membership of the Institute has grown steadily. The membership strength for now is over 6,000. Differential subscription were paid by members as approved by Council and at the 16 th Annual General Meeting in 1985 subventions from Ccompanies, Brokers and Adjusters were introduced.
The Institute maintains close liaison with the members at all levels of management and benefits from their generous co-operation and support for the Institute's activities and programmes.
